“I mean, it’s sort of exciting isn’t it? Breaking the rules.”
~ Hermione Granger, Harry Potter
I was out yesterday with my cousins to celebrate one of their birthdays when we chanced upon a Harry Potter themed cafe. Excitement was an understatement.
Harry Potter (the books/movies) was/is a big part of my life. I was so immersed in its universe that when the last movie was shown, I felt like a chunk of my young adult life was finally gone.
I relate so much to Hermione because all my younger self did was study and made sure to follow the rules. I was not one to color outside the lines. But like her, as I grew older, I learned that life is not always black and white – there are gray areas. And sometimes, you do have to break the rules in order to do what’s right.
On a side note, JK Rowling’s HP site has an online sorting hat and when I first started reading the books, I was sorted as a Hufflepuff and a few laters, I became a Griffyndor. I tried it again a few months ago and I am now a Slytherin. 😂
